Organisations can be penalised if they employ someone who does not have the right to work and they either did not do the correct checks or they did not do them properly.
Fines of up to £20,000 for each illegal worker or criminal prosecution can be applied. Inkerman Screening is able to check and confirm that an individual has the Right to Work by checking and cross-verifying documents which have been supplied, giving clients the assurance that when recruitment decisions are made, they are compliant and that all the relevant checks have been conducted.
The checks are dependent on screening candidates providing the relevant, accurate and complete identity documents and these checks also provide the foundations for other background checks being conducted such as Criminal Record, PEP, Sanctions and Credit checks.
