Press and media checks

PROTECT YOUR ORGANISATION’S REPUTATION

Candidate media checks can be tailored specifically to the client’s requirements – searches will be conducted over all available media sources and reported, both positive and negative findings.

Adverse media checks can be an important part of an organisation’s AML checks – it is all about risk reduction. Conducting these checks reduces the risk of potentially going into business with a company or individual with a history of money laundering, fraud and / or other financial crimes for example.

Sources of adverse media

This not only includes negative information from traditional sources of news, such as national and local newspapers or TV and radio broadcasts – both the media itself and the way that it is consumed has changed rapidly in recent years so any adverse media checks being conducted should reflect this.

The Inkerman Screening team therefore considers information found in unstructured sources as well – social media, online forums and public databases for example are also included in the searches conducted.

media sources

  • National newspapers
  • TV news channels
  • Social media platforms – such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, etc
  • Online forums – for example, Quora or Reddit
  • YouTube
  • Blogs belonging to both businesses and individuals
  • Databases maintained by regulatory bodies.

Confidential and detailed reports are produced regarding all media coverage identified during the searches conducted.
