Verifying an applicant’s employment history is a vital part of the background screening process – without confirming these details clients run the risk of recruiting applicants based entirely on information given on the CV as opposed to the actual employment history. Experience tells us that CVs cannot always be an accurate representation of an individual’s experience.
Knowing that the person that you are hiring has the skills and competencies that they claim to have allows you to make more informed decisions about how the candidate will proceed in the role.
Inkerman Screening confirms the details of each period of employment in the individual’s employment history, which will always include at least a description of their position at the company and the exact dates of their employment. Any inconsistencies with these details and the information that applicants themselves have provided is highlighted on the candidate’s screening report.
References are requested and chased – both automatically via our system, and by telephone via the screening team. If a response is not received, the candidate is contacted for an alternative contact, or to speak with the referee. The system is designed to advise if an e-mail has been non-deliverable, so we can keep on top of the process and not waste time. In addition, the screening team has a list of contacts who can provide references for the bigger companies, thus saving time and effort.
We can confirm whatever length of employment history is required – including most recent employment, 3 Years, 5 Years, 10 Years, 20 Years and entire employment history.
