Verification of applicant’s education details can be extremely important if you require a certain minimum standard of education, a specific degree subject or grade to perform a certain role within your business. It is also generally an area of CVs most likely to feature inaccuracies and / or exaggeration so, even if the individual’s qualifications are not important for the role, it is a good indication of their integrity. The screening team checks the individual’s education – schools, colleges and universities are contacted in order to verify the details that have been provided. The level of education and academic reference checks is flexible and could include: 

• All education attended within the screening period; 
• Highest education verification – either completed within the screening period or previously; 

• Verification of all education (from high school upwards).
